Update

Hi!

I know it's been ages since I wrote something on here, but I've been busy with school and plenty of other stuff. Basically I think about my year in the US often and I miss my friends from overthere a lot! I've been thinking about going to visit my friends in the summer, after graduation in 2015. I have a skype date with my friend from Switzerland on Sunday, and I'm looking forward to talking to her again!! I try to stay in touch with my friends, but it's difficult. I hope everyone is doing well and I'll talk to you later!

Hugs!

Home Sweet Home

I've been home for about 3 months and there is still some things that is hard for me to remember, like some words I can't remember in Danish and stuff like that... I have recently started college in Denmark and I totally love it, it's so amazing!!! The first week of being back in Denmark was the hardest, there was so many things to remember and things to do.

Later people!!

Snakkes senere!!

Graduation

I can't believe that this year is almost over, and I'll be graduating on Friday. It's funny how time just flew by and it still feels like I got here maybe a month ago tops and not 9 1/2 months ago. And I talked to my dad about that fact and he told me that it just shows that I chose the right thing for me todo after
I graduated high school in Denmark. And I totally agree with him, even though I didn't think that I could do it - because I thought that I would miss my family a lot more than I actually did.
On Thursday we are having mass ad dinner for the graduates and the parents and/or step parents. Where I'm going to have a speech just to say a little to all of them before I leave and so my that might could have gotten the opportunity to say something to the staff and students at St. Pius X, and there was something he wanted to say and since we can't talk to him over Skype so I'm going to say it for him.
And then on Friday is the actual graduation.

Looking forward to see my friends and family in Denmark when I come back in 15 days!

See ya!!!

Senior exams

Yesterday was my last full day of school, it was also my last concert with the choir - and when I walked our to Mr. McCreary to turn in my music folder, he looked at the number and said that I could keep it as a souvenir for when I go back home. And then I asked him: "What about all the music?" And he told me that I could keep that too, I was surprised and happy too - I thanked him and walked down to the cafeteria to look at the Art Fair.
Today and the next to days are senior exam days, and I don't have to take an exam until Friday, where I actually just have to turn it in and then I can go home again (I can write the paper home, print it out, go to school find my teacher (Maz) and turn it in to him, ad I'm done! How awesome is that?!?

Well that's all I can think of right now, and what I thought you might wanted to know!
So I see you in 21 days Denmark, do long ;)

Surprise

Hey guys!

Hey, this is the second time in a month that I have updated my blog - that's kinda surprising for me, because I've been getting kinda lazy with it. Soo...

Here's an update on my countdown for when I'll be going home, so I got 34 days left until they day I'll be sitting on a plane on my way back to Denmark - it's kind of hard to believe that I've been here for 8.5 months already. And my dad told me when I talked to him last weekend that it just shows that I chose the right thing to do after high school in Denmark, and that it altogether have been a really good experience for me, and I'm so happy that I got to spend it with all of you - I really appreciate it.

The weather here in Missouri is weird right know, it was cold for a couple of day and now it's a little bit hot, and it's said that the cold weather is coming back the next couple of days. I can't say that I'm complaining, its just that early this year (around the middle of March) it seemed like we would go strait from winter, short period of spring and then strait into summer - but apparently not...

So that's pretty much everything I can come up with right now.

See you guys later! Have fun!

Finally

Hey!

I finally got the date for when I have to leave and go back to Denmark. I'm leaving on May 30th and I will be in DK early May 31st. My family told me that they are going to pick me up, so I almost can't wait to see them again - after 10 months (even though I have only been here for 8 1/2 months). So now I started counting down, and as it is now I have 41/42 days left (depending on how you count).

I don't really have anything else to say at the moment, so...

See ya later!

Weather is crazy!

Hey guys!

I've been kind of lazy lately, thinking about how often I have been writing on here. So I'm sorry if you expected to hear from me more often, but there have been other things that needed my attention first. And even I wish that I had been writing a blog-update more often than I actually did.

The last couple of days we had about 80 degrees F, and today we had up to 85 degrees F (it's around 30 degrees C) - the sun was shining and there was not a cloud on the sky, it was such a beautiful day!

Lately we've been having fish almost every night, because of Lent - and I'm kind of getting tired of it even though it's made differently every time. I'm not saying I don't like it, just that I feel like a need a change soon (if my parents read this, please don't make fish the first 1-2 weeks - I still love even if you would make it)

That's all I got for you now!! Have a good time, until we meet again ;)

XOXO, Sofie

A little update

Hey there!
I was chatting with my dad earlier today and I told him that I think we should go back to Missouri together and visit my school St. Pius X High School, because there's a lot of teachers asking about him (my dad). And my dad was like: "That would be AWESOME!!!" - So I really hope that we are going to visit my family and friends in Missouri at some point...

I'm doing fantastic and I totally love it over here. And I apoligize for not updating my blog as often as some of you would like, but there is so much going on in my life right now that it is hard to find some time to sit down and write for about 10-15 minutes.

I almost just got home from Washington D.C. with the senior class at my school. We were at the March for Life, in other words we were saving babies. Meaning that we were walking because we are against abortion. It was an increddible experience, there were so many people, that you would have to hang on to your partner so you didn't end up getting lost. Before we arrived at Washington D.C. we spend a day in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where we got a guided tour of Gettysburg Battlefield - that's was amazing. I mean everything about that Pro Life Trip was amazing, so I could probably go on and on about what I liked the best. I think everthing was the best, and don't ever ask be about what my favorite thing was because everything is a favorite in its own special way.

That's all I got for now folks!

Love Sofie.

Half way through!

Hi folks!!

We're officially half way through our program!! Can you believe that?!?

I'm totally in love with my school, my friends and my family! It's amazing how fast the time goes by. There are two Chinese kids at my school who came last year and they stay until next year when they graduate... I don't think I could be away from my family for three whole years, I admire them for it! To say how much I love this time of my life: IT'S AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!! I love it SO much!

Don't have so much else to say!!

This is me, waiting for my ride, after school!
It was about 68 degrees Fahrenheit on January 6th, 2012!

News!

Hi guys!

There are so much going on in my life right now. I got interviewed for the newspaper last week, because my dad went to the same school as I'm going to this year. The interviewer was really sweet, she asked if my dad ever told us stories about his time at St. Pius X High School in Festus, MO. Of course i told her that I couldn't remember if he ever told us a story or not, he probably didn't. But then again, I don't remember.
My G'ma's oldest daughter, Anna, and her boyfriend, Zach, just moved in with us, so we are now six people in the house. I think it's nice to have a lot of people in the house, it's probably because we normally are five people in my house back in Denmark. And they have two dogs too, two Toy Poodles. They are kind of cute, but sometimes are they really annoying and you get tired of them in no time.
I have the time of life right now and I hope that the rest of my year in the United States of America are just as great. The Pius volleyball team won state, the soccer team are going to state - Go Lancers!! And the Cardinals won the world championship, seems like everything are going right the year I'm here. It's awesome!

Three months!!

Hi there!!

Now I've been her for about three months and I absolutely love it. But now I'm come to that point were I'm starting to missing my family and the everyday life at home in Denmark. They say that the first two/three months you don't think so much about home because everything is new and exciting. And then it starts to go down for a couple of days, but everything is going to be alright after those days.

There have been going so much on the last three months. The day before Halloween I went to a Haunted House with some friends and I had a really good time. I wasn't as scared as I thought I would be. And on Halloween I went over to a friends house, we watched SAW and just had a good time together. Yesterday I was at a friends birthday party, there was so much food. We were playing a dancing game on the xbox, and having a good time.

So long people!

Life!

Hi Guys.

There is so much going on in my life right now, and i'm really trying hard to write updates when ever I can.
Last Tuesday the St. Pius X choir went to St. Louis University (SLU) to sing the national anthem before a medical conference. I didn't think it was worth going all the way from Pius to SLU, to sing only one song. I had to get up at 4:15 am, so I could be at school at 6:15 because the bus left at 6:30. But I had a good time anyway - it just made me tired for the rest of the week.
The time is passing by sooo fast, I can't believe that I have already been here for over two months :o But I love it, even though our football doesn't win a single game... So when we are going to watch a football game, we start of with having a lot of faith in the Lancers, but then not so much. We still believe in them, but we just don't believe that we can win :/
On Sunday are we having a danish dinner, where of course i'm going to cook the main entrees. And everybody else is going to bring a side dish because it's apperently what they do when they go over to people for dinner. I can't wait to get some danish food. My parents are sending me a box of danish stuff, and it hasn't arrived yet and I can't wait to get it and look what they have send over to me.
That's all for now, I promise I will be better at writing on my blog..

XOXO, Sofie

Update!

Homecoming week is coming up, and I am soooo excited. Our theme is circus - it is going to be awesome!! I can say this much about our football team - could be better ;) I'm spending the weekend at the Utt's, because Nick and Melissa went camping and Boots is working. And I wanted to help building the float for the parade on Friday - soooo, here I am. If someone didn't know - I am having a great time over here!!!

I don't really know what else to write right now... I can't promise that i'll write on it every single day.

HI!

First am I going to apologize for not been writing on my blog.

I had a good first week of school, everyone is nice to me and I have made some new friends. I like all of my classes so far, and I do not have a favorite right now. I'm in concert choir and we are going to sing at a mass on 31. of August, i'm actually excited about it. There is another foreign exchange student at St. Pius that is also a senior, her name is Tammie and she is from Switzerland. She knows english, but we need to speak slow when we're talking to her.

I don't know what else to tell you right now, sooo.

See ya!!

2/8-11 to 5/8-11

Hi everyone.

I'm now officially at my hostfamily.
Last Tuesday, all of us got to Copenhagen airport at time. We were supposed to fly from CPH at 12:25 but we waited a looooong time before we even could get on the plain. They told us that the plain had technical problems, so we played cards and talked while we were waiting. The time went fast when we first got on the plain and started flying. We arrived at Newark around 10:30-10:45 (New York time), so all of us were very tired. Most of us went to bed straight away but some ate dinner first and then went to bed.
Last Wednesday we had breakfast at 7 am. And the bus to NY left at 8 am, from the hotel. Where we saw a lot of Manhattan, we had a guide with us from 9 am to 1 pm. And he told us a lot of things about Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens and Bronx. He mostly told us about Manhattan, because it's the place you're thinking of if someone says "New York" or "New York City". At 1 pm we had our lunch and after that we walked round in Manhattan on our own. We pretty much did the same Thursday. But he didn't told us the same things, we got new information every time.
I posted the pictures on Facebook, and there is written something to almost every picture.

That's all for now, it's possible that I'm going to write more about the Soft Landing Camp in NY.

Visum

Hi there!

Love, Sofie.
